About the Vector-8
The Greenbox Vector-8 is an active summing mixer designed to provide high-quality analog summing, combining mixing flexibility, sonic character, and a carefully engineered build for professional studio applications.
Transformer-Based Architecture
Its key differentiator lies in its audio architecture: each of the 8 channels features an input transformer with a Mu-metal core, while the output section includes a pair of transformers—contributing to a distinct sonic signature and a transformer-based approach to analog summing.
Individual Channel Controls
Each channel features independent Level and PAN controls (with a center detent), allowing for precise adjustments to level and stereo positioning. The center-detent mechanism on the PAN control makes it easy to return to the center position, offering greater accuracy and convenience during the mixing process.
Sonic Character Selector
The Vector-8 includes a sonic character selector with four options: NOS, MUSE, TANTALUM, and MODERN. These settings allow you to explore different sonic textures, providing the versatility to experiment and find the perfect fit for each production.
Master Control and Connectivity
The unit features a Master gain control to adjust the overall summing level, as well as balanced inputs and outputs via TRS connectors, facilitating seamless integration with audio interfaces and other professional studio gear.
Expandable to 16 Channels
For projects requiring higher summing capacity, the Vector-8 includes a dedicated connector for linking a second, identical unit, allowing the system to be expanded to 16 channels of analog summing.
